Calimia Home Thanksgiving
We had an early Thanksgiving get-together with girlfriends in Miami. Although it hasn’t exactly cooled down here in South Florida, my friend Lauren and I were determined to get our girlfriends together for a festive gathering. We chose my townhouse for the venue and set the dining table outside, it was a beautiful night to eat al fresco. We were just a close group of 6 and I usually like to keep the table settings simple. The table was casually set with linen placemats from Lauren’s recent trip to Portofino, tapered candles, and matching linen napkins tied in a knot with a green sprig.

The centerpiece was designed by Zoom Bloomz at the Midtown Garden Center and with some extra flowers we made arrangements in bud vases. The bud vases are easy to assemble and are slightly different leaving room to be creative. The vessel for the centerpiece is from one of my favorite shops in Savannah called the Paris Market how appropriate with the bird on each side. When picking inspiration for the centerpiece we wanted lots of green in a variety of textures and to also incorporate white roses. When planning your own table, come up with a plan, gather some images for inspiration and stick to a theme.
Lauren and I wanted to have something special for all our guests so we went to Lauren’s mother Lorraine who is a DIY expert. She created a beautiful handmade wreath for the holidays shown above the console. In addition, we wrapped some gifts in kraft paper with ribbon and faux flowers to match our theme. I just love the wrapping so much that whatever is inside is just a bonus.
